The BCF Travel Club (BCFTC) was established in November 2004 at the behest of The Blood Care Foundation. BCFTC was formed to extend membership to individuals around the world who want to access the services of The Blood Care Foundation and other travel related products.
The Foundation exclusively provides screened blood around the world in emergencies. We have been providing this service for over 20 years and as part of our services, can now address the concerns of travellers and expatriates in areas where there is a perceived risk of a shortage of suitably screened blood.
BCFTC is proud to have an ever expanding database of members worldwide as this reflects the importance of our products; it also highlights a growing realisation amongst travellers and expatriates, as well as local nationals, that there is an alternative option to dependence on local care.
We recognised the requirement for travellers in particular to carry specific transfusion medical supplies and this has had a major impact for our members in helping to reduce the risks of contracting transfusion related diseases.
The BCF Travel Club operates on a not for profit basis; at the end of each year, any excess of funds which are surplus to our running costs are donated to the Foundation. This helps ensure that the Charitable works of the Foundation can continue to expand and increase awareness worldwide of the various risks and solutions associated with blood transfusions.
